CORSET HISTORY, INFORMATION AND SUPPLIES

The Elizabethan Costume Page
Another labour of love from a very organized lady and her associates. Contains an incredible amount of information on various aspects of Elizabethan dress and historically accurate (or how to fake it well) costume building techniques. Peruse the whole site, or go right to The Elizabethan Corset Page for a custom Elizabethan corset pattern generator! This site will keep you riveted for hours on end, and will make you say things like: "I can't go to work - I have to construct a 16th century Flemish outfit!" or "Yes, but I don't have a Spanish farthingale!"

La Couturiere Parisienne
Go to the site map to get an idea of how much information is provided! Meticulously researched, this collection explores fashion back to medieval & renaissance time periods with a huge amount of documentation from paintings, photographs and museum costume collection exhibits. It's like a book you can't put down (if you are as obsessive as we are!) - truly inspiring!

Lara Corsets
Lara's antique corset collection is one of the most comprehensive we've seen on the internet. Fantastic pictures, and tons of historical information!

Farthingales
Corsetmaking supplies. Also contains historical information, construction tips & techniques, commercial pattern reviews & comparisons - a most helpful site. The owner was formerly the buyer for the Stratford Festival Theatre in Ontario.

The Antique Corset Gallery
Click on time period then on individual corset for close-ups and information. Measurements, makers, fabrics and traditional construction techniques.

EXTREMELY INTERESTING INDIVIDUALS

H. D. Reynolds
Web mistress extraordinaire. Crowned.org houses her online portfolio and recent works. Painting, design, illustration, silly cat photos - a true Renaissance lady!

Miss Firecracker
Home of Black Cat Burlesque and La Gata Negra League of Masked Lady Wrestlers. They put the 'bump' back into the night - need we say more? Miss Firecracker has brightened up our website with her incredible smile for years, and now she's poised to take over the world! (well, at least the masked lady wrestling and burlesque parts of the world... and the halloween specials part...)

Mr. Reusch
Our favorite monster man and pin-up girl illustrator! His designs have graced the pages of the Boston Phoenix, the Boston Globe, the Weekly Dig and many other respectable publications. Boston terrier Frankenstein is also a frequent (and wicked cute) model.

Slim Cessna's Auto Club
These guys don't wear corsets (at least that we know of...) but they are still one of the gosh darned best live bands we've ever seen! Truly an amazing experience - don't miss'em if they play near you!

Robyn Swank
Totally amazing and creepy photos! This lady has talent just oozing from... well, everywhere... maybe some band-aids would be helpful... or a bucket...

Molly Brenner
Talk about talent! A 'Jane of all Trades', Miss Molly has acted and modeled all her life and it shows in her (incredibly prepared!) professional attitude. And there is a super-nice lady behind that awesome smile...

Wednesday Mourning
Dark, elegant, atmospheric - and she made us all snort our Jamba Juices out our noses at the photo shoot. For expert modeling (or book suggestions) check out this lovely lady!
